In August 2020, Rachel will be directing the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival youth production of Iolanthe. The festival is looking for a cast of young people aged between 9 and 19 years, who love to sing and act. This is a wonderful opportunity for participants to get involved in the Festival and learn how a production is directed and staged in
just a week.

‘I baptise you as Tuesday, he said, because I found you on a Tuesday – from now on, the most beautiful day of the week.’
Tuesday’s an old man now, nearer the end than the beginning. As he looks back on his life, which began when he was abandoned in a church by his mother, we travel with him through time – into his memories, his dreams and the moments that shaped the person he became.
Rachel was the choral director for this world premiere, working with a choir brought together from the local community.
International Opera Academy
As assistant director on this children's adaptation of Debussy's Pelléas and Mélisande, Rachel assisted director Lucija Brnic. This production was a collaboration between the Flemish Opera and The International Opera Academy and was reworked to appeal to children 9+. Performances took place in The Minard Theatre in Ghent in April and at the Antwerp Opera in May.
