In August 2020, Rachel will be directing the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival youth production of Iolanthe. The festival is looking for a cast of young people aged between 9 and 19 years, who love to sing and act. This is a wonderful opportunity for participants to get involved in the Festival and learn how a production is directed and staged in just a week.
Tuesday’s an old man now, nearer the end than the beginning. As he looks back on his life, which began when he was abandoned in a church by his mother, we travel with him through time – into his memories, his dreams and the moments that shaped the person he became.
Rachel was the choral director for this world premiere at Manchester International Festival, working with a choir brought together from the local community.
In summer 2019 Rachel directed her first youth production for the International Gilbert and Sullivan festival.
30 cast members between the ages of 9 and 19 took part and rehearsed and performed a full performance in just 8 days.
